RE: Create Domain to receive email in the same pop3 mailbox. ~Alexis Chujumiplopflar 8.Jan.04 08:10 PM a Web browser General 6.0.2 CF2All Platforms
Thank Joe for your help on this...
We actually have a faxgate that we are using like you said person@phonenumber@faxdomain. This work great for Internal needs.
I wanted to be able to allow external application(External to Domino) to be linked to our fax system. One way to do this was to create a pop3 database on domino and our fax server will check this pop3 email account.
It had to work for Inbound SMTP because the external application will use SMTP to send the message. Could be anything that are able to use this protocol.
I tried to create a foreign domain named faxgate.canammanac.com and linked this to a notes mail-in database. I tested this using an external application(Outlook Express) and sent a message to fax=555-1212@faxgate.canammanac.com
To my pleasure, it is working well...
But, the server doesn't like to have a space in the part to the left of the @. I have to check this. like: /fax=555-1212/name=Jane Doe@faxgate.canammanac.com will generate an error. Will have to work on this...will try the hexa %20.
